April 15th is fast approaching, and for most Americans that means one thing – filing your taxes. This year’s taxes will be the first filed since the historic GOP tax reform went into effect.

Let’s face it, President Donald Trump has his fair share of critics. President Donald Trump has his fair share of detractors. He won a hotly contested presidential election and the tolerant and understanding side still have not accepted or coped with the defeat. They have done everything in their legal—and, sometimes, not legal—power to obstruct, disrupt and “resist” the Trump administration. However, with the passing of new tax legislation, this April 15th, members of “the resistance” have the viable option to put their money where their mouth is. If you are of the “not my president” tribe, then you have the wonderful option of paying more in taxes. Now, is that liberty or what?

As Benjamin Franklin once said, “Our new Constitution is now established, and has an appearance that promises permanency; but in this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.” So, if you truly loathe the president, what greater way to show how much you hate Trump and his agenda than by rejecting his tax plan and paying more than you are supposed to? So, what if it puts more money in the pockets of the middle class? Anyone can wear a pink pussy hat, right? Show your commitment to the “resistance” by paying more in taxes. You should consider it your progressive duty. As an added bonus, the country’s debt – which increased significantly under Obama – will be thankful for your progressive “woke-ness.”

Here’s What to Do!

Paying a higher tax bill than the one you will get because of the Trump tax plan will really stick it to Trump and the Republicans. If you have ever used the phrase “GOP tax scam” in your life, here is what you can do to enlist yourself in the war against Trump and middle class prosperity. If you think the Trump tax plan is a sham, then all you have to do is write a check and send it to the U.S. Department of the Treasury!

This will be especially helpful to those who are of the affluent socio-economic statuses. They are the wealthy woke. Right now, you should be envisioning all the Hollywood elites and NFL kneelers. Additionally, according to Fox News, back in November, more than 400 of our country’s millionaires and billionaires effectively pleaded with President Trump to pay more taxes. The letter read:

“We call on Congress to raise our taxes to bring in additional much-needed revenue and to restore investments to vital services.”

At the time, it was hoped that “doing so will help create jobs, strengthen the middle class, and ensure America’s economic success.” In addition, it was stipulated that “under no circumstance should tax reform lose revenue, especially to provide tax cuts to the wealthy and corporations.”

As Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk said on Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Co.,” at the time:

“Meanwhile they’re seeking every possible tax deduction they possibly can, in their business, in their personal life, through their foundation.”

After all, nothing says solving “income inequality” like a bunch of billionaires asking to be taxed more publicly while looking for every loophole privately to save themselves money.

By navigating to the United States Treasury Department’s webpage, you can use the taxes you were used to paying under President Obama and list it as a contribution to a reduction of the debt. As the website specifies, there are two ways for you to make a contribution towards reducing the debt:

You can contribute online by credit card, debit card, PayPal, checking account, or savings account.

You can write a check payable to the Bureau of the Fiscal Service and, in the memo section, notate that it’s a gift to reduce the debt held by the public.

That is how conservatives operate. They are a compassionate and caring bunch. Conservatives want to help others and they want to do so by facilitating individual responsibility.
